    Description

    Postcard dimensions: 6.5x3.5inch
This item is a original ww1 blank propaganda postcard that depicts British casualties near zonnebeke during the second battle of ypers. This was famously the battle where gas was first used on mass by the germans. This particular photo seems to depict victims of an artillery explosion. During this specific engagement the germans only used heavy artillery twice. First of Frezenburg Ridge(8-13 may) then during the battle of Bellewaarde (24-25 may). Both saw British positions overrun. This photo was likely taken during one of these specific engagements.
