Description
Neat antique Arizona and New Mexico Territory Native American pottery Pieces!I believe these could be turn of the century tourist pieces sold to those that traveled to the Southwestern wanting a memento of their visit.
There are three (3) pieces - one Zuni, one Santa Clara and one Moki (more commonly known as Hopi):
1) Zuni painted handled pottery piece (it has label that reads: ZUNI INDIANS Arizona Territory). It is approx. 3 1/2" tall including handle in measurement.
No visible cracks on this piece - some wear of paint showing.
2) Santa Clara black bowl pottery piece (it has a label that reads: SANTA CLARA INDIANS New Mexico Territory). It is just over 1 1/2" tall.
This piece does show a mark/divet on bottom - not sure if original to the piece or not (see photo #8 for details)
3) Moki (Hopi) narrow pottery piece (it has a label that reads: MOKI INDIANS New Mexico Territory). Note: The Moki are more commonly referred to as Hopi) It is approx. 3 7/8" tall.
This piece does have hairline crack near base however seems secure (see photo #10 for details)
The Zuni and Moki pieces have nice black marks from the original firing process.
Great antique condition considering their age - see all photos for details!
