    Description

This is an original 1968 Fender Vibrolux Reverb guitar amp in good condition. This first year silver face edition has the rare chrome trim (drip rail) around the outside edge of the grill cloth.  The tube chart reads "Model AA864", and the chassis serial number stamp on the back reads A11734.  This amp appears to have all its original transformers.  The output transformer reads 022848, which translates to being manufactured the 48th week of '68.  The
    power
transformer reads 606-810, which translates to the 10th week of '68. The smaller transformer reads 606639, which translates to the 39th week of '66, and the last small transformer reads 8316726, which translates to being manufactured the 26th week of 1967. The original grill cloth and black vinyl show normal road wear, primarily some tears in the edges of the vinyl and multiple snags in the grill cloth, as seen in the close-up's.
I had this amp serviced last year right after I acquired it, so it plays and sounds great.  I can't remember if the serviceman told me whether the capacitors have been replaced, but with an amp this old, surely they have.   This amp includes its original footswitch for vibrato and reverb.  The two 10-inch Fender speakers each have a blue Fender label, but one magnet appears larger than the other, as seen in the close-up, so apparently one of the speakers has been changed, perhaps long ago.
I bought this amp from the popular Texas musician Junior Brown.  You will find his guitar virtuoso on re-runs of Austin City Limits, or on
    YouTube
.  See the last picture where I met Junior outside a store in Branson, MO last summer where the store had an outside power outlet for me to check out the amp.  I was responding to an ad a friend saw.   The amp had some scratchy pots and other noisy issues, so after buying it, I took it to Springfield, MO to an amp serviceman to fix it.    It plays and sounds great, with lots of Reverb.  I have a '59 Deluxe, Mojo (or StuMac) kit-built amp, that I am now using.  Otherwise, I wouldn't be selling this Vibrolux.
