hand-built and delicately and sensitively hand decorated with burnt sienna slip glaze,
bisque-fired, earthenware ceramic vessel or watering jug,
with splayed open pouring spout, elliptical angular form, with a repeating hand painted, geo-abstract, upper sidewall pattern. Signed with a
hand lettered high case monogram signature
'HSP'
on the baseplate. The vessel has quite conspicuous and surprising form, appearing much like an angular flying saucer, with its abrupt turns and acute angles. The only perhaps soft spot on it, is its apex pouring spout, which sits above a tubular shaft or neck, ascending from its decorated upper shoulders. The upper sidewalls have hand painted and now slightly diminished in intensity,
hand painted burnt sienna slip glaze, geo-abstract repeating patterning,
circumnavigating the entire girth of the vessel. The water jug has a satin finish which is slightly reflective. The entire form was hand-built from ceramic coil, smoothed and finished by hand by the indigenous tribal ceramic artist. Outstanding and very, very beautiful. From
