Description
REMEMBER TO SELECT A SHIPPING OPTIONShipping cost is based on weight, size of package, AND distance. The farther it travels, the more the shipper charges. Look at all the options as one may be a better deal for you than the others.
Anchor Hocking made sandwich patterned glass between 1939 and 1964. The 9 1/2" jar is the OLD jar. (The taller ones at 10 1/4" are newer.) You are viewing a listing for ONE 9 1/2" OLD depression-era cookie jar made by Anchor Hocking, most likely in the 1940s. TWO are available for sale if you'd like a matching set. Both are 9 1/2" and both are of similar quality. The photos are of both pieces. Clean glass, no chips, no cracks. The rim of each jar has a rough patch, see photos. The lids, including the knobs, are in good shape. Understandably, the bottoms show signs of shelf wear from storage and use.
The lids are not airtight lids.
They simply sit on top of the jar.
The opening's outside diameter is 4 7/8" and the inside diameter is 4 3/8". It stands 6 5/8" without the lid. It's 4" across the bottom. Each jar weighs 2.5 lbs by itself. Very nice heavy biscuit / cookie jar in a timeless pattern that would look great in virtually any kitchen decor.
COMBINED SHIPPING
I will combine shipping if you buy multiple items from the store IF they can be safely packed/shipped in the same box. Place all the items in your cart. Email me for a shipping quote. If you agree then you'll complete the purchase but DO NOT pay for it until you receive a revised invoice from me. It will have a link to pay from that lower-cost invoice.
RETURNS
If you are not satisfied you may return your item within 30 days. Contacting me early is the key to a smooth transaction. Return shipping is at buyer's expense. Refund will be issued once I receive the item and it is in the same condition as when I shipped it out. Broken items will be refunded through insurance if you provide the photos necessary for me to file the claim. Post office wants several photos of the box, packing materials, and broken item. No worries though...in all the years I've been doing this I've only filed one claim for a broken item :-)
Once items leave my possession I don't know what was done to them, therefore, I never give partial refunds in lieu of buyer sending the item back to me for a full refund. In accordance with ebay's policy, if the item is returned to the seller in a condition different than it was shipped out, the buyer can choose to refund only a portion of the original purchase price.
Please read descriptions carefully, including zooming in on all photos, and ask as many questions as you like to feel comfortable before buying.
Photos are part of the description.
CONDITION
I sell vintage collectibles. This means the vast majority of my inventory is not in new condition. Please understand that a lot of what I sell is 30 or more years old and may show signs of wear from use, handling, or extended storage. I mention as many details regarding condition as I notice. Please review the description and the photos and ask me as many questions as you like before bidding. I will do the best I can to answer the specific issue for you.
I do not describe the unique manufacturing issues present in some types of glass and crystal such as straws, winkers, bubbles, swirls, etc. but I will provide photos of the more noticeable and interesting ones.
AMATEUR
This is my HOBBY. I’m not interested in racking up negative karma so I NEVER include information with the intention to mislead. I spend a lot of time researching items to provide you with as much information as I can but I’m not an expert. If you need to know something more specific in order to make a decision, please ask before bidding. If you feel I have made a mistake then please let me know. I love to learn new things and do not take offense.
INT'L SHIPPING
I only use ebay’s Global shipping service. The ship cost I charge is only to get it to the U.S. hub. A third party bills the additional costs for customs and shipping from the hub to your residence. I do not even see what that cost is so do not ask me to fiddle with the rates or paperwork. That’s the third party, not me.
