    Description

    Alvarez A700 F-style Mandolin. Up for sale is my 1976 Alvarez Model A700 F-style mandolin. Serial # 097663. This mandolin looks good but plays a little hard so be advised of that. I have no trouble playing it but have had others say it’s too stiff. It currently has .011 to .040 strings on it. It does have a couple small dents in the top but all in all pretty good for a 45 year old instrument. It is a bright mandolin that can hold it’s own in a crowd without being at all tinny. According to Alvarez.com these were made in Japan in the mid to late 70’s and are of very high quality. It has a solid spruce top and laminated curly maple back and sides. I have enjoyed this instrument and have taken very good care of it over the time I have had it. It comes with the original hard shell case as shown in the pics. If you are looking for a reasonably priced, high quality, good sounding mandolin you will be happy with this one. Nostalgic!!! Shipping to the lower 48 only!!! Happy bidding and good luck.
