1940 New Jersey Keychain License Tag – not DAV (VC 36T)

Description

A fellow collector asked me to make him a Social Security keychain tag for his collection so I dug out the machine. It has been a few years since I made any of these tags, so I thought I would make a few more and put them on eBay.
This is a 1940 New Jersey license plate keychain tag made with an original blank NJ tag and frame. It has green printing on a black plastic tag like the original plates. See the photos for details and condition.
The machine is from the 1930’s and the tag supplies that came with it were from the 1940-41 era.
This tag was made with a special heat and pressure stamping machine that I bought years ago along with some plate blanks (New York, Pennsylvania, New Jersey), colored tape for printing, and the frames as seen below. The slugs used in these tags had deteriorated so I made cardboard slugs and added a dark blue plastic piece to the back. I have included some photos below of the machine and the process so you can see how this tag was made. There was a bit of work involved!
